seaway7 has awarded Hellenic Cables a contract to supply approximately 165km of 66kV inter-array cable and associated accessories for the East Anglia 2 offshore wind farm in the UK.
Hellenic Cables specialises in the engineering, design, manufacture, testing and supply of cables, as well as the supply of associated accessories.
The company will manufacture at the company’s vertically integrated submarine cable factory in Corinth, Greece. Under the terms of the contract, production is expected to commence in 2026 with final delivery expected in the first half of 2027.
The contract follows the East Anglia 3 offshore wind farm contract.
Kostas Savakis, Managing Director of Hellenic Cables, said: “Our team is delighted to continue our expert partnership with seaway7 and ScottishPower Renewables, and to contribute to the realisation of the East Anglia Offshore Hub with reliable, high-quality cable solutions.” The East Anglia Two offshore wind farm, located in the southern North Sea, off the east coast of England, was selected in the latest round of the UK Government’s Contract for Difference (CfD) award (AR6).
The massive 960MW project will comprise 64 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD wind turbines, which will be mounted on monopiles supplied by Sif. The installation of the wind turbines and foundations will be carried out by Cadeler.
According to the contract signed between Helink Cables and Seaway7, the company is responsible for the transportation and installation of inter-array cables under a contract agreed and signed with the developer in November 2024.
